Colorado Landscapes - Maroon Bells at Sunrise from Maroon Creek

The clouds over Maroon and North  Maroon Peak were just beginning to show some color in this photograph from Colorado's iconic Maroon Bells area. Marook Creek was flowing all around me and I was perched, tripod and all, on a small rock about 4 feet above the water - all rather precariously. Still, I wanted to be in the middle of the action. Fortunately, the image came out nicely and I did not slip into the freezing waters. Behind me, the sun was just beginning to light up the valley and Maroon Lake was silent and still on this early morning in late July.
